Do you really need to make your call before 11am? Avoid creating delays by only calling for urgent matters and visit requests before 11am.

We keep appointments open throughout the day and you will always be seen if needed. Please note 90% of all calls are answered within 10 minutes but you could help reduce your wait time by calling later in the day if you can.

See how these youngsters explain how to look after yourself and your family!

Help us to help you by bearing the following in mind:

Allow three working days for any repeat prescription request. See our clinical protocol for whether your medication falls within the urgent category, otherwise you will have to wait even if you have run out. You can order up to a week ahead.

Our phone lines are extremely busy. Our team will answer as soon as they can and we have typically seven receptionists on duty at one time.

Routine referral letters will usually be completed and sent within five working days. Do not enquire before then.

The scripts team handle around 6000 requests a month. Please use online ordering and in the event of missing medication, check with your chemist in the first instance. The phone lines do get very busy and you may have to wait.

Insurance, legals and reports will usually be dealt with within 10 working days. Rare exceptions may be made to this timescale but only in the event of a real emergency.

Our secretaries have no better access to the hospital than you. We are not able to chase referral enquiries or expedite appointment times on your behalf.

Patient Participation Group

We are always keen to welcome patients to join our Patient Participation Group. It is a friendly group that helps shape and inform the development of patient services. We are particularly keen to hear from young people and people at work, and can tailor our meetings to suit your needs.

Just email James Foster, Practice Manager, on to find out more.

We are situated very close to public transport stops on St Stephens Street and the bus station on Surrey Street. There is limited free underground parking available on site but this is not guaranteed, therefore you may need to park at Chapelfield where you can have your ticket validated at reception if your stay is under 1 hour. Please allow time to travel as you may not be seen if you are late.

Named accountable GP

All patients in the surgery are able so see the GP of their choice but each patient has a named accountable GP on their clinical record.  If you wish to know who your named GP is please ask at reception.
